Welcome to Mrs. Coulehan's 4th Grade Class
First, thank you from the bottom of my heart for weathering this storm with your son/daughter, GSS and me. I sent home all of the worksheets that the students will need for the week in stapled packets. You should have received two yellow folders with work and two gallon ziploc bags labeled Reading and Science/Social Studies. The work sent home is a combination of daily worksheets and long term project assignments. In addition, there will be other assignments that will need to be completed in their workbooks. All daily assignments can be found on the Homework, Test, Project tab on GSCW Classroom website. Additionally, I have uploaded links to videos about specific topics and concepts that might be helpful. Lastly, students will be asked to use their own codes and passwords to access sites like Freckle, Read Theory, etc.. The students should have these codes posted on the front page of their Agenda books. If not, I have the passwords at home, so please contact me via e-mail or the Remind app, and I will gladly send you their login information.
We have asked the parents to check in with us daily to show that their child has completed the daily assigned work for the day. This can be done several ways. You can take a picture of the completed work and send it to me via email or text or you can scan it if that is convenient and email it to me. This will help me keep track of completion. Please know that I understand that every child works at a different pace and that this is all new and unexpected; therefore, some may finish quicker than others. The expectation is that students will complete 4 hours of instruction per day. That means, if something is not able to get completed on Day 1 then they should start with that on Day 2 and so on...
At this time, the teachers are able to work remotely from our own homes. I will be checking my texts on Remind and email regularly. It is also my hope that we will meet again next Monday, March 23rd to swap out completed materials with new worksheets for the following week.
I want you to know that I believe we are a team and we will continue to work together to ensure your child's success. Please feel free to reach out at any time with any questions or concerns.
Stay safe and healthy.
